Ko’olina

Ko’Olina is a master planned vacation and residential resort and community located on the leeward side of Oahu. Ko’Olina features two miles of coastal frontage with seven lagoons, four artificial and three natural all featuring luscious white sand beaches. The community is home to three hotels and vacation resorts, as well as the villa homes and resort condominiums. Among the hotels and resorts within the community is a fun-loving Disney Resort and Spa, the beautiful Aulani and Marriott’s Ko’Olina Beach Club and more.

The community has royal roots as part of the royal land division that begins with the waters of Pearl Harbor and extends to the very summit of the Waianae Mountain Range. The area was considered sacred and reserved as a place of comfort for Hawaiian royalty to allow them to relax from the pressures of ruling. Beginning in the late 1800s James Campbell began development in the area through irrigation he turned the once arid lands into a thriving sugar cane plantation. The area was also used by serviceman during World War II for R&R purposes. In the 1980s modern developing efforts began with Herbert Horita and Takeshi Sekiguchi for the Ko’Olina Resort properties even today only about half of the area is developed allowing room for expansion. Today expansion continues in the community promising growth in employment and housing opportunities.

Ko’Olina’s kauhale is made up of six beautifully planned villages built to suit many different lifestyles. Plantation style cottages, time share villas, beachfront villas, town homes along the fairways and state of the state-of-the-art time share properties allow residents to choose the home perfect for them and their needs.
